Photorejuvenation (Intense Pulsed Light or IPL)
Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy is a non-invasive skin treatment that smooths lines and wrinkles, and erases pigment issues like sunspots.
Photorejuvenation or IPL is very effective and treats:
- Brown spots
- Sunspots
- Spider veins
- Acne
- Blood vessels and rosacea
- Other pigmented lesions on your face, neck, chest, hands, and arms
Intense pulsed light is similar to laser treatments but uses a lower intensity and wider range of wavelengths. The light energy delivers a pulse of light that breaks up the darker colored cells. It is a non-ablative technique, which means that it affects the lower layers of your skin rather than the top layers.
Most clients have a sunburn-like feeling for a few hours after the procedure. The brown spots then darken for one to two weeks, then lighten and eventually lightly peel off. There is little downtime and very safe. You may need a topical anesthetic during treatment. On average, clients need two to four treatments for the best results.
